About
The Quantum Decarbonisation Mission (the Program) will fund projects with the potential to provide significant decarbonisation benefits through quantum technologies and provide a platform for collaboration between quantum scientists, decarbonisation domain experts, and industry partners.
The objectives of this program are to:
- accelerate the development and application of quantum technologies that can make a significant contribution to decarbonisation
- build coalitions and collaborations between quantum scientists, decarbonisation domain specialists and industry partners
- grow Queensland’s capabilities and contribute to establishing Queensland as a world-leading hub for quantum technologies.
Investment is targeted at Queensland-based organisations with proposed projects addressing decarbonisation challenges using quantum technologies.
Key points
- Applications for the Program have closed. It is anticipated that applicants will be informed of the outcome of their applications in September 2024.
- The Program supports projects that leverage quantum technologies to achieve substantial decarbonisation benefits. It also encourages collaboration among quantum scientists, decarbonisation experts and industry partners.
- Proposals must seek from $1 million up to $10 million and define a project in Queensland which seeks to address significant decarbonisation challenges through the application of quantum technologies.
Eligibility
The Applicant Organisation must be:
- a Queensland-based agency that conducts research as part of its core activities, including some universities, government agencies, not-for-profit organisations, and companies
- registered for GST and have an Australian Business Number.
The Program encourages collaboration among quantum scientists, decarbonisation domain experts, and industry partners.
