Welcome to the Queensland Quantum Academy
The Queensland Quantum Academy (the Academy) is an innovative education and skilling initiative brought to life through a dynamic partnership between the Queensland Government, industry leaders, and academia. The Academy champions the Queensland Government’s commitment to integrating quantum and advanced technologies learning opportunities into schools and TAFE programs, equipping the workforce for the rapidly expanding quantum economy.
The aim is to make quantum opportunities accessible to all Queenslanders to ensure that "everyone can be part of quantum”.
Why Quantum?
Quantum technology is set to revolutionise modern life by providing unprecedented capabilities and solutions. From ultra-secure communication networks and highly accurate sensors to ground-breaking advancements in computing power, quantum technology will transform industries including healthcare, finance, telecommunications, and defence. Objectives of the Queensland Quantum Academy
- Collaborate with the schooling sector to raise awareness and encourage diverse student engagement with quantum-related employment opportunities and career pathways.
- Promote and incentivise the uptake of quantum and advanced technologies courses across Queensland.
- Support the creation of effective quantum skills and workforce engagement processes for industries and government agencies.
The Queensland Quantum Academy portal is currently under development, designed to offer an array of exciting features and learning tools. This initiative is led by the Quantum and Advanced Technologies team at the Department of Environment, Science, and Innovation (DESI), in collaboration with the Department of Education (DoE), the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training (DESBT), and various educational and workforce institutions.
